Painting on clear 16mm and scratching is a technique used in the production of experimental films. I will introduce it to you from the aspects of material preparation, the way of experimentation, and the experience.
Painting on clear 16mm and scratching
Through the superimposition of various techniques, the clear film shows a variety of colour expressions.
Tools and Materials
We can use art painting materials (water-based paint, oil-based paint, etc.) and tools (such as nail polish, clear sequins, threads, stickers, etc.), and we can use sandpaper or a hole-punch for scratching.
We can also use a spray bottle and a toothbrush to create a water droplet effect on the film.
In experimental filmmaking, I am not only limited to a fixed mindset, but everything in life can be used as material for my work.
